Rural Experience


Clint Harden makes his home in rural New Mexico with Kathy, his wife of 49 years. Clint’s family homesteaded in Curry and Quay counties in the early 1900's. A graduate of the University of Utah College of Business, Clint went on to earn an MBA from Eastern New Mexico University. Clint is an active volunteer serving on the boards of New Mexico First and the Central Curry Soil and Water Conservation District.  Following a successful career in both the private and public sectors Clint founded Clinton D. Harden government relations firm.

Clint took his place in Santa Fe as Cabinet Secretary of Labor appointed by Governor Gary Johnson in 1994. He was the administrator in charge of implementing the Workforce Investment Act. Clint and staff worked in partnership with two year community colleges to create career pathways in the transportation, oil field and construction industries. As Secretary of Labor, Clint worked with the secondary and post secondary institutions to establish Career One Stop Centers.  During this eight year job, Clint learned the culture and  operating environment of the executive branch of government. 


State Senator Clint Harden District Seven, represented parts of Curry, San Miguel, Taos, and all of Quay, Harding, Union and Colfax Counties. This senate district covered over 15,000 square miles of rural Eastern and Northeastern New Mexico.  Senator Harden served on the Senate Judiciary and Conservation Committees. His interim committee assignments included Soil and Water Conservation Committee, New Mexico Finance Authority Oversight Committee, Rural Economic Development Committee, Courts and Corrections Committee, Health and Human Services Committee, Welfare Reform Oversight Committee. During this 10 year public service opportunity Clint learned the cultural  and operating environment of the legislative branch of government.

Business and Public Sector leaders have turned to Clinton D. Harden for advice concerning the Executive and Legislative government process.  Clint's experience enables him to provide counsel to clients concerning public policy.
